58-year-old Cage became a father for the third time, but this is his first child with 27-year-old actress Riko Shibata. Shibata is the fifth wife of a cult Hollywood actor.

In January, they announced that they were expecting a child.

A source close to the family told People magazine that she, a daughter, was born on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The couple named her Augusta Francesco Coppola Cage. On his father’s side, Cage is the grandson of the legendary American director Francis Ford Coppola, after whom he apparently named his new daughter.

“Nicolas and Rico are happy to announce the birth of their daughter. Mother and daughter are doing well,” said a close relative.

The American actor has two older children – 16-year-old Kal-Elah and 31-year-old Weston.

“I refused The Lord of the Rings and Matrix because I didn’t want to go to New Zealand for three years or Australia for three years because I needed to be home with my son Weston,” he explained.

Cage, however, agreed to go to Croatia to film in The unbearable weight of enormous talenthis much-anticipated film, which premiered internationally on April 21.
