US: $2 billion military aid to Ukraine and 18 other countries “threatened by Russia”
Earlier, a senior State Department official said the US Secretary of State would announce $2 billion in new military funding for Ukraine and 18 other countries threatened by Russian aggression.
The official said the Biden administration had notified the US Congress of its intention to provide funding for long-term investment, without naming other countries or specifying how much money would go to Ukraine.
According to the US State Department, the aid is in addition to a $675 million package of direct military assistance to Ukraine announced today by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
