A new segment called “Art Today” has recently been added to the contemporary art market, which has diversified the age of art enthusiasts and attracted the attention of collectors as well as investors looking to diversify their portfolios. Arta Azi brought to the stage a group of contemporary artists who expressed contemporary trends, their works had technique, messages and emotions, bringing to the owners not only cultural capital and a smart investment in a time of inflation, but also the opportunity to participate in the development and maturity of the Romanian art market .
A large part of the visual creators of the new artistic wave, which make up the “Arta Azi” segment, are present at the first auction of the new season of the Romanian art market, organized by the auction house A10 by Artmark. “Art today”. The contemporary art auction will take place on Tuesday 20 September and will bring together approximately 200 works of contemporary art, contemporary sculpture or digital art in NFT format by artists currently in the spotlight on the contemporary art scene – Adrian Heny, Victor Brauner, Felix Aftene, Roman Tolici, Francisk Quiariu and many others. The starting price of their creations is conservative because this is a good time for investment, from 100 to 5,000 euros.
The leader of the auction is Felix Aftene with the work “Sărutul” made last year, the starting price of which is 5,000 euros. In recent years, the artist from Iasi has followed an upward trend, changing from works selling for several thousand euros to 15,000-20,000 euros. Thus, owners of works signed by Felix Aftené have enjoyed an impressive increase in their value in recent years. The second most expensive work – “Storm at Sea” was created in the first period of creativity of the most rated contemporary Romanian artist at the international level – Adrian Heni and has a starting price of 3,000 euros. Subsequently, in Romania, due to the rarity of works signed by Geni, the auction price rises above the maximum estimate of the houses, eventually trading for tens or hundreds of thousands of euros. This process is supported by contemporary art enthusiasts, collectors or investors who become owners of these rare values with the potential to increase over time.
Other interesting artists who follow the growing trend in contemporary art auctions and who are in the eyes of collectors, present at the event on September 20, are: Ana Bănică, Robert Lorincz, Nicolae Comănescu, Lucian Smău, Pisica Pătrată, Saddo, Latifundiar, Viktor Fota , Roxana Benea, Andriy Tudoran, Alina Ondine Slimovski, Luigi Puiu or Eul.
