Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku announced on Thursday that the meeting with UiPath founder Daniel Dinesh recently had only one goal: to turn the Treasury into an efficient digital unit capable of detecting any illegitimate amount of money. “We will use the most advanced technologies to identify those who do not pay taxes and cheat the budget for huge sums,” Çolaku said.
Prime Minister Marcel Călăcu revived the fight against tax evasion in Romania on Thursday in government and gave details of a meeting held on Tuesday at Victoria Palace with UiPath founder Daniel Dinesh.
- “Also, I want to eliminate all loopholes through which taxes are evaded in Romania. Without money, we cannot have the pension system, strong health care system, highly effective education and roads that we want.
- Therefore, we will use the most modern technologies to identify those who do not pay taxes and cheat the budget for huge sums.
- That is why I met the other day, and I also recommend the leadership of the Ministry of Finance, to hold a meeting with the management of a Romanian company that has become a world leader in software automation, and the purpose of this meeting was only one: to transform the Treasury into an effective digital unit, capable of detecting any illegal amount of money.”, This was announced by Marcel Cholaku on Thursday.
As a reminder, UiPath, a Romanian-American IT company based in Bucharest, is currently considered a world leader in the production of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technology, which helps companies and other organizations automate their processes, thus taking over certain repetitive tasks that have employees.
UiPath has around 4,000 employees worldwide, a quarter of which are in Romania.
All current cash limits will be maintained, with two exceptions
The Prime Minister announced on Thursday that the government will revise the order on cash receipts and payments.
- “As promised, today we are also reviewing the NP on collection and settlement transactions. All current cash limits will be maintained for both individuals and legal entities, with two exceptions – the cash ceiling for companies will be a maximum of 50,000 lei and the advance for settlements will be 1,000 lei per day.
- Even if the stated principles were correct, difficult situations occurred in real life. I spoke with both representatives of the banking system and small traders in the markets, with large entrepreneurs, as well as with families who have micro-enterprises.
- The unanimous conclusion is that our economy is not yet ready to operate with less cash, especially in rural areas where ATMs are rare and the world uses more cash,” said the Prime Minister.
