
Huge project: €40 million from the EIB for 10,500 Eldrive charging stations, part of an expansion project in Eastern Europe, Eldrive said in a press release. Specifically, this major investment in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles currently covers three countries: Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania, with expansion also underway in Latvia.
“The European Investment Bank (EIB) announces €40 million in financing for eMobility International AD (operating under the Eldrive brand) to install more than 10,500 electric vehicle charging stations in the Eldrive network, which currently includes three markets, Bulgaria. , Romania and Lithuania, as well as after expansion in Latvia,” Eldrive said in a press release.
EIB financing is part of a broader investment package. It is worth more than 170 million euros and serves to develop the Eldrive network.
More ecological land transport
The aim of this cooperation is to accelerate the development of the electrification of ground transport in Europe with the help of an infrastructure for electric vehicles with easily accessible charging stations.
The project supports several EU policies and contributes to the achievement of carbon reduction targets. In particular, it helps implement the Green Deal. By 2025, it is planned to reach one million public charging stations for electric vehicles.
At the same time, this project contributes to the Sustainable Development and Mobility Strategy’s goal of having one million public charging stations by 2025 and three million by 2030.
