Huawei’s newest flagship phone, as well as a new flagship foldable model, were unveiled at an event in Munich on Tuesday, as the Chinese company looks to showcase a new approach to the European market. The Huawei P60 Pro phone comes with a strong focus on the photography side and will have a price that will start around 5,800 lei in Romania.

At an event in Munich, Germany, Huawei showcased its top-of-the-line mobile phones, laptops, smartwatches and wireless headphones, marking a symbolic moment as it tries to re-engage with the European market after years of being hurt by a rift with Google over the system Android and due to sanctions and restrictions imposed by many Western countries.

Huawei phones they still don’t come with integrated Google servicesbut in the App Gallery app ecosystem that Huawei has been working on for the past few years, there are ways to run some, if not all, of Google’s services and apps, even if it’s not the most elegant or secure way (some apps need to be installed from third-party sources).

Apart from this aspect, the new top models of Huawei impress especially from the hardware side, with good and very good characteristics, but especially from the photography side, on which the Chinese manufacturer has put the most emphasis.

Huawei P60 Pro, for example, received the most points from the specialized site DXOmark for its cameras (156 points), taking first place in the top of the best mobile photo systems.

As a distinctive feature, the P60 Pro also comes in a white variant with a mother-of-pearl pattern back panel, with textures and a range of shapes unique to each device.

“On the back of the phone, Rococo Pearl contains natural mineral pearl powder in the smartphone to create an effect of illumination and shine, achieving a unique natural texture,” explains the manufacturer.

The Chinese company also presented its foldable Mate X model, now in its third generation, in Munich.

With a strong emphasis on photography, the first folding telephoto camera with a periscope type, the model also offers a large external frame screen – 6.4 inches 120 Hz OLED. Inside, the phone has a 7.85-inch open screen with a resolution of 2496 x 2224 pixels (426 ppi density) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
