Three Dutchmen, members of their country’s special forces, were wounded in a shelling near their hotel in Indianapolis, US, on Friday evening, the Dutch Defense Ministry said today.
One of the soldiers was hospitalized in critical condition. Three men participated in an exercise in Indiana and local police are investigating the incident. So far, no arrests have been made.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is yet to comment. A police officer told FOX 59 that there had apparently been an earlier clash elsewhere.
“Right now, the information we can reveal is that it didn’t happen at a hotel. This was a previous encounter, we believe elsewhere. It didn’t happen inside the Hampton Inn, a downtown hotel, but “outside,” he added.
