The president of the National Authority for the Protection of Consumer Rights (ANPC), Horia Constantinescu, accused on Wednesday morning that some producers are “coloring” chicken meat to mislead consumers without specifying which companies they are talking about.

“There are business entities that paint these products to mislead us. But here, too, a miracle happens: some chickens are dyed while being fed, so that the dye penetrates the fabric and does not wash off,” Constantinescu writes on his Facebook page.

He states that “there is great alarm among those who should have paid attention to this phenomenon” and that “desperate arguments are being sought to show that our authorities have nothing to look for in the whole route of painted chickens.” “

His Facebook post is accompanied by images of whole chickens placed in containers of water, which appear to have discolored parts of their skin. He also exhibited a catch with a prospectus of “feed additive for use in a mixture, in finished feed, for additional pigmentation of the skin of birds and coloring of egg yolk.”

“Interestingly, please read the brochure that the eggs also turn a different color when the food is mixed with the specific products of our trick,” the ANPC chief continued.

“If we also add the salmonella ingredient found in some farms by our colleagues, given that each of these structures should have serious and not superficial filters, the dyed chicken also becomes dangerous for our health,” says Constantinescu, adding , , “today we will send information to absolutely all institutions that can check how this situation arose and who covered up the truth.”
