The father of Sebastian Olario, the student killed after Vlad Pascu drove into a group of youths on May 2, complained on Thursday about the attitude of a judge from the Mangalia court during the first session of the trial, saying that there were hallucinatory scenes in the courtroom: “He asked if my boy had been to the gym.”

The trial of Vlad Pasku, the 19-year-old who, under the influence of drugs, killed two groups of eight youths on May 2 and killed two students last summer, took place Thursday in Mangalia court.

However, the court session was postponed at the request of Vlad Pasku, who was not represented by a lawyer, arguing that his lawyer was on strike.

Parents of young people who died in road accidents complained about the delay in the process and the attitude of the judge, calling everything a “joke”.

The father of Sebastian Olario, the young man who died in the crash, left the Mangalia court in tears, saying the judge asked in the courtroom “where is Sebastian” and asked for the boy’s report card:

“I have never experienced such a judge in my life. He wanted his ballot (no, Sebastian Olario’s ballot, the guy who died in the accident).”

The accident occurred on August 19, 2023, on DN 39 near the town of Vama Veke, after Vlad Pascu drove into a group of eight young people who were walking along the side of the road. Roberta Marina Dragomir (20 years old) and Sebastian Andrej Olariu (21 years old), students of the Faculty of Geography at the University of Bucharest, died on the spot. Three more young people were injured.

The tragedy of May 2 plunged the Romanian police into a new scandal, which is headed (from May 2021) by Inspector General Benone Matei under the direct supervision of Quaestor Bohdan Despescu, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior.

The accident revealed shocking details. Vlada Paska was stopped by the police twice – the day before the tragedy, on the filter, and the same night. He was allowed to leave the police station without a drug test, even though drugs were found in his car and the car did not have valid RCA insurance. Less than an hour later, Vlad Pasku caused an accident.
