Despite being fired from the final season of the Netflix original series House of Cards amid sexual harassment allegations, Spacey posted a video on his YouTube channel on Christmas Eve in which he appears as his character Frank Underwood, a ruthless politician turned president USA because of betrayal, deception and even murder, writes Forbes.

This year, Spacey discussed Netflix and next year’s U.S. presidential election with Tucker Carlson in an interview the former TV host called a “Christmas Election Surprise.”

“Every time a person opens the Netflix app. Are you there somehow, did you see it?” Carlson asked, playing Netflix’s “tudum” intro sound.

“Yeah, you know what that is?” Spacey said, then slammed his fist on the table like Underwood does in House of Cards.

“Boom-boom. So it’s amazing that they decided to cut ties with me just based on allegations, allegations that have now been proven to be false. Because I don’t think there’s any doubt. Netflix exists because of me. I put them on the map, and they tried to put me in the ground,” Spacey said.

Spacey, who remained completely in character during the seven-minute video, even hinted that he would run for president in 2024.

“I think we can both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room, so if that means taking on the role of chief executive, I’m willing to make that sacrifice for the sake of this nation,” he said. Spacey said. .

“Our country needs to stop apologizing and strengthen the laws. We have so many people struggling with so many different issues like gun control, but let’s be honest. Internet trolls are killing more people every day,” Spacey said, according to Variety.

The interview may have been an attempt by Spacey to respond to a court ruling that ordered the actor to pay nearly $31 million to MRC, the production company behind House of Cards, for violating Netflix’s sexual harassment policy, Forbes noted.

Kevin Spacey starred in a low-budget film

Earlier this year, Variety reported that Spacey had landed his first film role since sexual assault allegations in 2022’s low-budget Italian indie L’uomo Che Design Dio.

Before that, Spacey’s last role was in the 2018 film Billionaire Boys Club, which was filmed before the sexual assault allegations surfaced. Despite its theatrical release, it grossed a paltry $2.8 million at the box office.

Carlson also asked the Hollywood actor when he would be back at work, to which Spacey replied, “I’ve been back at work since we started talking, Tucker.”

Kevin Spacey acquitted in UK trial

House of Cards was one of Netflix’s most popular series when it launched in 2013 as one of the first original streaming series.

Spacey played power-hungry US President Frank Underwood until Season 6, when he was fired following sexual assault allegations.

Four men accused him of sexual assault between 2001 and 2013, most notably in 2004 when he was director of London’s Old Vic. The most serious allegation against the actor is that of a man who accused him of drugging him and having sex with him while he slept.

He denied the charges and was found not guilty in a New York sexual assault trial in 2022. In 2023, Spacey was acquitted of sexual harassment charges in the UK.
