The Intimate Green Bark Diary of Queen Maria of Romania was bought by the Ministry of Culture on May 12, 2023 for €49,000. The act provides that the cultural value will be transferred to the management of the National Historical Museum of Romania, where it is already in storage.

More precisely, the price paid was 49,000 euros, corresponding to the amount of 241,540 lei, equivalent to the rate set by the BNR.

At the time, the ministry declared that, according to experts, the text of the diary was written in black ink, the covers were soft, made of fir fabric, and the edges were lined with antique gold silk ribbon. The state of preservation of the manuscript is very good.

The purchase contract was signed by PSD Culture Minister Lucian Romaškanu, and the negotiating team was headed by State Secretary Diana Bachuna.
