
Actress Anda Karopol died at the age of 84 after 50 years on the Nottara stage. Her body will be buried in the foyer of the theater on Thursday, News.ro reports.
“Actress Anda Karopol has passed away. With perfect discretion, innocence and love for her work, Anda Karopol spent more than fifty years at the Nottara Theatre, during which she played fascinating roles alongside some of the best actors of the Romanian theatre, from George Constantin to Stefan Iordake, from Gilda. Marinesku Alexander Repan”, – representatives of the Ministry of Culture wrote on Facebook on Wednesday evening.
Anda Karopol was born in 1939. In 1960, she graduated from the Institute of Theater and Cinematographic Art, majoring in “Acting Art” in the class of Professor A. Pop Marcian.
He made his debut in “Sonnet for a Doll” by Sergio Farchashan, staged by Lucian Giurcescu. In “Hamlet” directed by Dean Cernescu, she was Ophelia of the famous Hamlet performed by Stefan Jordake. He also starred in Once Upon a Time for Two Orphans directed by Sand Manu, Henry IV directed by Luigi Pirandello directed by Lucian Giurcescu and House of Honor directed by Gori Lovinescu, Moon in the Village directed by Turgenev Good Evening Mr. Wilde!, and performed many other roles, both in the theater and in the cinema.
A message of condolence and appreciation was also sent by UNITER.
“UNITER is saddened by the news that the beloved theater and film actress Anda Karopol has left us. A person who seemed to spread peace around her, a balanced person with a melancholic look, whose presence has been enjoyed by the Nottara theater team for more than 50 years… Anda Karopol was appreciated by her colleagues for her serious attitude to work on the stage, for her extraordinary sensitivity and modesty. He interpreted hundreds of roles with fascinating subtlety, with fragility and microscopic delicacy, conveying again and again an unheard-of power of expression. Anda Karopol knew and was happy that she could gift the theater with undisguised zeal,” UNITER reports.
According to the quoted source, in 2017 she still declared her tirelessness: “I hope that from now on I can participate in supporting the Romanian theater phenomenon by acting with the same dedication.”
The body will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Nottara Theatre.
