On Tuesday, Sector 1 local council increased the scholarships for Sector 1 students. Thus, Olympic Achievement Scholarships, Merit Scholarships (for students with an average of 9.50 to 10.00 and for those who have won prizes in Olympiads, competitions, schools and sports competitions) was increased to 700 lei/month compared to 600 now. The amount of social assistance will increase from 300 to 600 lei per month. The increase is effective immediately, starting with the current year.

We significantly supplement from the local budget the amounts provided from the state budget for: Olympic scholarships, merit scholarships (students with an average score between 9.50 and 10.00 and for those who won prizes at Olympiads, school competitions and competitions, athletes will receive 700 lei / month – 450 lei allocated from the state budget and 250 lei financed from the local budget), and we doubled the social assistance scholarship, which increases to 600 lei / month (300 lei allocated from the state budget and 300 lei financed from the local budget).

These scholarship increases are part of a larger plan to promote education and school performance, the mayor said.

“In a society that often offers children the wrong models of academic achievement in life – ghost university diplomas, nepotism and plagiarism, we direct them to books and constant development of skills,” wrote Clotilde Armand on the Facebook page.

In Sector 2, merit scholarships for students with an average score of 10 are 600 lei, for students with an average of 9.50 to 10.00 – 300 lei, and social scholarships – 500 lei.

In sector 3, merit scholarships are 300 lei, and social assistance scholarships are 400 lei.

In Sector 4, merit scholarships are 200 lei, and social assistance scholarships are 200 lei.

In sector 5, scholarships for students with an average score of 10 are 500 lei, for students with an average level from 9.50 to 10.00 – 350 lei, and social scholarships – 250 lei.

In Sector 6, merit scholarships are 600 lei (awarded to middle and high school students with an overall GPA of over 9.50 and the top 30% of students in each class), and social assistance scholarships are 300 lei.
