Following customer feedback, ING is offering one of its most anticipated automations planned for the second half of next year: data refresh, according to a statement from the credit institution.

Thus, the bank will be able to request changes in the customer’s identification cards available in the DGEP database online, and thus will be able to update this data without the help of the customer.

This collaboration supports the efforts of the General Directorate for the Registration of Persons to automate and improve the level of communication between the IT systems managed by the DGEP in the MAI and those managed by other institutions, both public and private, while increasing the level of digitalization of services, provided to citizens, with the aim of simplifying and debureaucratizing activities.

Starting this week, ING becomes the first bank in Romania to automatically receive data from the newsletter of new customers with Romanian citizenship directly from the National Register of Personal Data (RNEP) when opening an account in the bank’s branches.

Thus, the process of getting to know the clientele becomes easier and faster, in conditions of complete security, and the quality of the data is guaranteed. In addition, the process becomes more sustainable as there is no need to keep a paper copy of the bulletin.

Over the next year, automatic data verification will also be applied when opening ING accounts online through the ING Home’Bank app. “We are glad that thanks to this cooperation we were able to become pilots again in Romania and take another important step towards automating the key stages of contracting for our banking services. However, the digitalization of banking services is possible only to a certain extent, without the cooperation of the authorities and state institutions. That is why this partnership with the General Directorate of Personal Data is very important”, – Roksana Petria, Tribe Lead Customer Engagement, ING.
