UTA Arad had to play several matches at the stadium in Oradea, as the playing surface is changing at the “Francisk von Neumann Arena”. Now Arad residents have asked to play their home games at another stadium, and the decision will be effective from the match with Ocellul Galats.

UTA Arad – Ocellul Galats will play in Sibiu

The playing surface at the Franziska von Neumann Stadium in Oradea was changed during this period, so UTA had to play their home matches at the Iuliu Bodola Stadium in Oradea.

Now the people of Arad have once again decided to change the stadium, and through a statement published on the official Instagram account, they announced that the match with Ocelul Galați from the 16th stage of the Romanian Super League will take place at the Municipal Stadium in Sibiu.

“UTA is not moving permanently from Oradea.

We want to play as close to home as possible, we appreciate the openness and support of our hosts from the neighboring country. We are glad that we were able to offer the residents of Oradea matches of the first league of Romania, and we want to offer them in the future.

For these reasons, we have asked the competition organizer that only the next game we play as hosts will be played in a city other than Oradea.

The only reason we made this request was to protect the playing surface, which has seen a lot of games played in a relatively short period of time, causing some issues.

Thus, UTA-Ocelul Galați from the 16th stage of the Super League will be played in Sibiu, at the Municipal Stadium, if our request is approved.” – says the club’s official press release.
