Today, there are many different types of fuel that meet different needs. Obviously, we’re thinking classic diesel and unleaded E10 or 98. But it’s also possible to fill your tank with LPG or even E85, which, as the name suggests, is compoundable. 85% ethanol. The latter will be cheaper and will also be more environmentally friendly as it will use alcohol produced in agriculture. But over the years, new types of fuel also appear. We think about synthetic gasoline, but not only that, as we will explain to you below!

New fuel
Indeed, if you go to certain countries, particularly Germany, you may find service stations that offer E20. But what is it about? In fact, it is a fuel that contains 20% ethanol, compared to only 10% for the well-known SP95 E10. But then what’s the point? Well, the latter would be even cheaper at the gas station, which is very good news in the current context. This is because ethanol is cheaper than the oil used for fuel. And going up to 20% theoretically doesn’t risk damaging the engine like E85 does if you put it in an unsuitable car.
Currently being tested
On paper, this is all very interesting. But if you cross the border or drive through Germany, take your time to fill up. Because this fuel is currently being tested and not everyone can buy it. In fact, only fleets have the right to receive them now. Note that this E20 fuel is not entirely new as it has already been tested in some countries, e.g. India as well as Thailand for some time now.
