Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu released new figures on Monday for Romanians on vacation or pilgrimage in Israel, saying another 780 are due to return to the country. “From our first entries in total there were about 790 and it is already clear that we are talking about more than 1,600,” the Prime Minister said on Monday.
While in Varna, the Prime Minister thanked the Bulgarian authorities, which last night brought 6 Romanians from Israel. According to him, Tarom will continue the struggle to attract Romanians to the country.
- “The Tarom company continues. (not to import Romanians into the country). According to estimates, about 780 people have been announced so far. Thus, our first record was about 790 in total, and it is already clear that we are talking about more than 1,600,” said Marcel Cholaku.
Discussion of possible financial assistance for the payment of tickets
The Prime Minister hinted that he was considering possible financial assistance to pay for their tickets.
“I realized that a lot of companies where they already had a ticket are not refunding them, but offering other trips, which seems unfair to me. I will speak to the President of the Competition Council and the Minister of Transport. There is no mention of a large number of townspeople, there were also people on pilgrimage. I guess we will discuss each case depending on the income and cover those amounts,” said Cholaku.
He thanked Tarom for not abandoning the race, unlike other companies, and said there was no need for military aircraft to bring Romanians into the country.
Iohannis and Colacu spoke on Saturday about 800-900 Romanians who are on vacation or on pilgrimage to Israel
Some 800 to 900 Romanians are on vacation or on pilgrimage in Israel, and Romanian authorities are looking for a solution to bring them back to the country, President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Marcel Colaku said on Saturday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania announced the activation of the Crisis Center.
