The capital’s mayor-general, Nikusor Dan, assured the people of Bucharest on Sunday that this winter will be better than previous years in terms of heating agent supply, as 50 km of pipeline from the heating network will be completed and the Titan Power Station will balance the system in the north-eastern area of the city .
“The worst winter for Bucharest was 2020-2021 because, being an election year, no work was done in the summer of 2020, and everything that was not done accumulated. I remember half of Bucharest had no hot water and heat for about three weeks before Christmas. After that, 2021 was a little better, 2022 was a little better, 2023 will be better because this year we did a lot of work, and it is the Titan plant that balances the northern -est territory,” Nikushor Dan explained, according to Agerpres.
He noted that the trunk network is the most important for heating, because the pipes are larger and the losses are proportional.
“In 2021, we covered 28 km, in 2022 – 32 km, and this year we will definitely cover 50 km. I hope that the good weather will last as long as possible so that we can work on highways (…), and then we will work on connections,” added the mayor.
