South Korea beat Taiwan by one-hundredth of a second at the Asian Games

Jung, 27, relaxed and raised his arms as he neared the finish, but was overtaken by Huang Yu-Ling (Taiwan) at the last minute to miss out on the gold by a hundredth of a second.

“I made a big mistake. I didn’t come at full speed to the finish line. I went down too soon. I’m sorry” – Jung Cheol-won (South Korea)quoted by Reuters.

Juan, who was previously disqualified in the 1,000-meter individual sprint, is undecided about participating in the relay.

“Last night I kept telling myself I wasn’t in the mood to race today, but then I looked at some old social media posts to cheer myself up. After the race, I thought it was a shame that I was so close to winning, and then the results came up on the screen to show that I had won by a hundredth of a second, and it was a miracle” – Huang Yu-Lin (Taiwan).

Jeon Jeong-won and teammate Choi In-ho lost both the gold medal and the added bonus of being able to avoid mandatory military service (18 months to 2 years) for South Korean men between the ages of 18 and 28..
