In a press release, the carabinieri report “the end of a several-month chase”.

Luigi Cacciapuoti, 64, who has been in hiding since February, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of “mafia-style association”.

The investigation, coordinated by the Carabinieri under the supervision of the Anti-Mafia Office of the Naples District, managed to establish that Luigi Cacciapuotti was in an area located near the town of Villaricca, on the outskirts of Naples, in Campania.

But despite this discovery, the head of the clan was never found.

For several months, the law enforcement officers followed all traces to detain him, but without success.

Once, when they were lying in wait in the streets of Villarrica, the carabinieri noticed a small white dog “looking from the half-closed window of a large villa.”

This poodle was not just an animal, but a faithful companion of a woman close to Luigi Cacciapuotti.

After confirming the dog’s identity, authorities decided to surround the villa to arrest the suspect.

The man did not resist.

At the time of his arrest, Luigi Cacciapuotti was “lying on the edge of the pool” and reading an article about Ponticelli’s Camorra, according to News.ro.
