The record was set at the Milan Brera weather station. The minimum on Thursday was +28.9°C, the maximum was +37.8°C. On August 11, 2003, the maximum was +38.3°C, the daily average was +32.8°C, the record has now been broken.
Temperatures above 37 C have rarely been recorded in Milan in recent decades, in years such as 2003, 1975, 2017, 2023, 1998 and 1982.
August 2003 was the warmest month in Milan with an average temperature of +28.7 C, while July 2015 averaged +27.9 C.
The coldest August night in Milan was in 1969 with a staggering low of +7.8C.
The winter of 1956 only brought temperatures of -15 C to the northern Italian city, while in 1991 it was below -12 C. January can exceptionally bring temperatures above 20 C, as it did in 1982, 2000 and 2007.
