US President Joe Biden has said that not much is happening in Russia without Vladimir Putin, and while he does not know what happened to the Wagner leader, he is not surprised by the news that Yevgeny Prigozhin may have died in a plane crash in Russia, Reuters and The Guardian report.

Joe Biden commented on the plane crash involving Prigozhin, saying he was “not surprised” by the news.

“I don’t really know what happened, but I’m not surprised,” Biden said, according to Bloomberg News.

“You may remember, I’ve been asked about that,” Biden told CNN’s Kevin Liptak, referring to comments he made in July that Prigozhin should be concerned about his safety after the failed uprising.

At a press conference in Helsinki in July, Biden joked that if he were Prigozhin, “I would watch what he eats, I would watch the menu.”

Earlier, the American press wrote that US President Joe Biden was informed about the crash of a private plane in Russia, the White House said, while US national security spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said that if the assassination of the head of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is confirmed, “no one should be surprised.”

At the same time, the first confirmations of Prigozhin’s death began to appear both from the main Telegram channel of the Wagner group and from Volodymyr Rogov, an official appointed by the Russians in the Zaporizhia region.
