Gaurak started his football career at Blazma Rezekne before moving to Italy where he played for Ascoli U19 and Rodengo Sayano. He returned to his homeland, to Ventspils, from where “Rapid” rented him for six months in exchange for 50 thousand euros. The attacker played only 6 matches in the Giulesti shirt, without scoring a single goal, and left Romania in the summer of 2010.

After hanging up his boots, the Latvian became the president of Spartak Jurmala, but he was dealt a heavy blow in mid-2021 when UEFA banned him for at least 10 years for match-fixing.

His sanction was reduced to 3 years after an appeal by Edgars Gauraks, but the former footballer was still not satisfied and appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. The final sentence was a 15-month ban, which ended earlier this year.

Now, according to his social media profile, Gaurac has opened his own impresario firm and mainly recruits young footballers from Latvia. In addition, the former player has also invested in real estate.
