The National Network of Museums of Romania announces an absolute record of 311 cultural events registered during the “Night of Museums 2023”, which will take place on Saturday, May 13, in a joint program between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

This year, “Night of Museums” will present the largest number of events over the past 19 years of its existence: 297 from Romania and 14 from the Republic of Moldova, which are currently registered.

The Night of Museums will be celebrated by 217 museums and 80 cultural organizations in 82 settlements from 33 districts of the country.

Apart from Bucharest, the Night of Museums 2023 has a record number of museums and open spaces in Tirgu Mures, where 28 events await the public, followed by the cities of Iasi, Cluj-Napoca and Brasov.

Night of Museums in Bucharest – 60 events

Around 60 events will take place in the capital from Saturday morning until late at night, offered by museums, art galleries, cultural and exhibition centers, theater spaces, opera houses, choirs, palaces, institutes, houses of experiments or higher schools and music. festivals

The special guest of the Night of Museums 2023 is the museum of the world phenomenon, the Museum of Military Childhood, which opened for the first time in Romania.

His exhibition can be visited for free in the New Gallery of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, starting at 4:30 p.m., from May 12 to June 12, 2023. The exhibition is called “Listen” and presents an innovative curatorial approach and an extremely emotional exhibition course, which is built around the objects and testimonies of children affected by the war.

The 19th edition of “Museum Nights” will also take place in the Republic of Moldova in 14 museums: five museum institutions in Chisinau, including four large national museums, as well as nine museums from five districts.
