Eugen Gheorghe Voicu and Andrei Nicolescu, representatives of Red&White (Dynamo’s new majority shareholder), organized a press conference on Monday where they provided the first details of what’s next for the Bucharest group.
Voicu and Nicolescu are the founders of Red&White, and Dorin Jacob, father of Vlad Jacob (Dynamo Bucharest’s special team administrator), will join them as an administrator.
While Eugene Voicu has never been involved in football, being focused on investments, insurance and real estate, Andrei Nicolescu comes with experience from Rapid, where he served as vice-president when the team was in the fourth division.
“Dynamo” has debts of more than 7 million euros, and the mission of the new shareholders will not be easy at all.
Eugene Voicu wants Dynamo to become “the richest club in Romania”
“Official registration in the trade register took place today, we are the majority shareholders of the Dynamo club.” The list of shareholders will increase. For fans, I decided to join this project. I would like to acknowledge the fans who are with the team.
We want to change a bit the approach that you usually see in the management of football clubs in Romania, to run this club by a group of entrepreneurs rather than having a single shareholder. We believe this model is similar to any business.
I don’t want to make money, but the rules by which “Dynamo” should work are the rules that any well-run business should follow. Nothing can happen immediately, we want to lay solid foundations. The change is fundamental.
Mr. Badea didn’t convince me to come here, but I respect him for the support he gave in dealing with Mr. Sherdean, that was Mr. Badea’s role. I ended up here by accident. A group of investors who planned to save Dynamo asked me to take the initiative and make an effort.
How quickly can “Dynamo” be brought out of bankruptcy? I can’t say for sure, it could happen in a few months or over a longer period. The increase in share capital is the solution we are applying, the loans will be converted into shares.
We want to take the club public. Whoever gets out of this investment will have the opportunity to do so at the right price. We want to involve as many people as possible from different professional backgrounds. I cannot tell you the number of transfers. When reorganizing the club, there will be no problems with money.
We want to cooperate with CS “Dynamo”. I cannot tell you more at this time. I think that CS “Dynamo” and “Dynamo” are from the same family. In our strategic business plan, we want to get them on our side.
Slavs welcome us. I don’t know if experience is what we’re looking for. I don’t know if the Romanian footballers who were more active in Romania got enough experience to manage the club. We do not say “no”, there may be exceptions, but our plan today does NOT include the intention to cooperate with former athletes in management positions. I have not discussed this with Mr. Cornell Dean. Mr. Sherdean exceeded expectations, in 3 days we understood each other. The only mention is that he remained with 0.1% of the shares, being dynamic.
Money is a component, not a solution. If we unloaded a truckload of money, the situation would still be critical. Rules are important. When everything is clear and everyone trusts our plan, the money comes.
These are the entrepreneurs we are talking to. We have options to quickly solve the problem. We want to build a club that will develop by itself, become the richest in Romania” – Eugen Gheorghe Voicuduring the press conference.
12 million euros for a “healthy club”
“Together with Yevhen, Vlad and Rezvan, we want to take small and important steps so that this club is organized the way it should be. The most important element is team cohesion. From all the discussions we had, I can say that we are a united team, all four at the table understood the project and the direction in which “Dynamo” should go.
We want to talk less, try to do more and talk about what has been achieved, not about chimeras or empty promises. Starting today, I will officially form a team with Vlad, we will try to return Dynamo to where it belongs. I guarantee that it will be a very interesting trip.
I think it’s not the amount of money you want to put out in the media. From our point of view, the efficient use of money is much more important. This should be the wish of everyone who thinks how “Dynamo” comes out of bankruptcy. Whatever amount is needed to get out of bankruptcy, it must be used correctly.
The amount of 12 million is needed for the healthy development of the club. Even in the sports field, we want to progress step by step, we want to have a typology for the development of a football team. The fact that we give two million euros and bring in a star does not mean that it solves our problem.
What does step-by-step mean from a sporting point of view? It is very difficult to interfere with what Ovidiu Burke managed to build. Ovidio did something ground-breaking, drawing on the strength of the group. But soon we need a sports director with whom we can make a forecast for the next 3 years. We clearly say that the moment we enter the fight for promotion, we will fight for it” – Andrey Nikolescu.
Dynamo should come out of bankruptcy “in 3 years at the most”
“Today I am pleased to think that we are sitting next to serious people. Until today, shareholders could be divided into two: those who had will and did not have power, and those who had power but did not have will.
I hope that the people next to me have both the will and the ability. These are some ambitious plans. As an insolvency practitioner, a new chapter should be started today, covering only the insolvency situation.
We have someone to talk to, I hope that Dynamo will return to where it was. We should get out of bankruptcy in three years at the most” – Razvan Zavelyanu.
