
The number of hospitalizations has increased COVID-19 in the week of February 13-19, while the positive remained at the same level.
Flu positivity in the community has increased and two new deaths have been reported. According to the EODY Weekly Surveillance Report on Viral Infections of the Respiratory System (SARSCoV-2, Influenza Viruses and Respiratory Syncytial Virus – RSV), the number of influenza cases has decreased, as has the number of positive RSV results.

The positive result in all samples tested was at the same level as last week, the number of hospitalizations for Covid-19 increased, the number of new intubations decreased. The number of intubated patients with Covid-19 infection is 101. There were 95 deaths with an average age of 86 years.
The BA.5 sub-option is the most common Omicron sub-option. Sub-option BQ.1.1. is the most common sub-variant of BA.5. The most common BA.2 sub-variant remains BA.2.75 (44%), followed by the XBB.1.5 sub-variant (33%) and the CH.1.1 sub-variant (19%). Surveillance of viral load in urban wastewater showed an increase in SARSCoV2 circulation in 3 out of 10 areas tested.
Influenza virus: 3 severe cases, 2 new deaths
Flu positivity in the community has increased. Three new severe cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza with admission to the intensive care unit were reported, and two new deaths were reported during the week of February 13-19.
Since the start of influenza surveillance, a total of 64 people with influenza have been hospitalized in the ICU and 21 deaths have been reported. During the same period, 274 influenza virus-positive samples were reported from two influenza reference centers, of which 267 (97%) were type A strains and 7 (3%) were type B strains. Of the 266 type A strains, were subtyped , 251 (94%) were classified as subtype A(H3N2) and 15 (6%) as subtype A(H1N1).

There was a decrease compared to the previous week in the community, which affected all age groups, except for the 0-4 year old group, where there was no change in the frequency of influenza subscriptions.
