Prodigy mastermind Liam Howlett formed the band in 1990, heavily influenced by the usually illegal rave parties that swept the UK. Through them, he will also find his co-authors, ravers Keith Flint and Leroy Thornhill, and a little later a fourth member, MC Maxim, joined the group. With the first singles, the dance anthems “Charly” and “Everybody in the Place”, Prodigy managed to become one of the strongest electronic music artists in Europe without even releasing their first album.

Their debut album ‘Experience’ became a dance music sensation, while the next album, already a classic ‘Music for the Jilted Generation’, took the scene (as a whole) to big venues, giving it something of a rock- audacity. ‘n’ roll. Nearly thirty years after its release, it remains a landmark work that will influence generations to come.

The Prodigy ended the 90s in an even more impressive fashion with The Fat of the Land, which literally propelled the band to the top of the world. The record will go to #1 in sixteen countries (including the UK and the US) with over 10 million sales and the band will now become one of the best live bands on the planet.

The Prodigy released four more albums, once again topping the UK charts (all four reached #1), but that all changed in March 2019 with the shock death of Keith Flint.

It was three years before Howlett announced in March 2022 that the band was returning to live performances, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of “The Fat of the Land” and honoring the memory of their great singer. Their ten sold-out UK performances will delight audiences and critics alike, with the press characteristically writing that “The Prodigy are not only back, but here to claim their throne again.”

On Friday, July 21, Water Square will feature some of the greatest songs born of electronic music (“Breathe”, “Voodoo People”, “Firestarter”, “Out Of Space”, “Smack My Bitch Up”, “Omen”) . , “Their law” and much more) in one concert – a real holiday from the legendary band.
