Olena Rybakina and Coco Gauff were supposed to meet in the 1/8 finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai, but the Wimbledon champion withdrew a few hours before the start of the match.

According to the WTA, Rybakina complained of lower back pain and did not want to risk a more serious injury.

Under these conditions, Coco Gauff reached the quarterfinals of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, where she will meet Madison Keys (23 WTA).

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships runs from February 19 to 25 on hard, is part of the “WTA 1000” category and has a total prize pool of $2,788,468. Simona Halep won the tournament in 2015 and 2020, and the last edition went to Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia.
