CNN’s Christiana Amanpour posted a short clip of an interview with Russian Ambassador Andriy Kelin on Twitter on Wednesday, which will be broadcast in its entirety this evening.

“First of all, Defense Minister Serhii Shoigu once again assured each of the other ministers that we will not use nuclear weapons. And there is not a single statement from the president (Putin, no), or from any other responsible person… I am not talking about journalists and all the discussions on television… Therefore, Russia will not use nuclear weapons, it is excluded,” – says Andrii Kelin in the video clip.

As Christian Amanpour points out in a post, the Russian diplomat’s comments came on the same day that Russia carried out a nuclear show of force under the watchful eye of Vladimir Putin, who assisted in the exercise via video conference.
