When you own a car, there are all kinds of things that you fear more than anything. Get it stolen, mother accident or even finding it completely wrecked after leaving it parked overnight in a deserted car park, for example. And while it is possible to take some precautions, unfortunately, it is impossible to avoid all dangers, especially if we are dealing with well-organized and particularly motivated thieves. Moreover, the latter mostly operate in groups, while very often being part of a large spare parts trading network. Some items can also be used on cars that have already been stolen that need repairs without official channels.

A real epidemic

If thefts are often relatively isolated incidents, the situation currently affecting the city of Lyon is more surprising. Indeed, the capital of Gaul for several weeks suffered from a strange phenomenon: a the carjacking epidemic. But be careful because not all of them have an effect. Only the Renault Clio seems to be the target of thieves who don’t hesitate to steal anything they can. In TF1’s microphone, the victim does say that “the whole back of the car was taken from us”, and the other had the whole front part robbed. Suffice it to say that for drivers it should amount to several thousand euros in repairs.

Several cities were affected

If there is a situation especially worrying in Lyon, however, this city is not the only one affected by this phenomenon. Indeed, this also applies to Marseille and Paris, which have been hit hard. And, of course, Renault Clios aren’t the only models sought after by thieves who tend to target all mainstream and mainstream cars. So far, the law enforcement officers have not detained anyone. It is still best to protect your car by parking it underground and avoiding small streets with little traffic.
