
The former leader of the liberals, Bohdan Olteanu, the former president of the Chamber of Deputies and the former vice-governor of the National Bank of Romania, who was finally sentenced to five years in prison in the case of the appointment of Liviu Mihaj as the governor of the Danube Delta Administration, will be released from prison after the final decision of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, News.ro reports.
The court dismissed DNA’s appeal against the decision on the merits issued by the Bucharest court on this matter.
“Rejects as unfounded the appeal filed by the prosecutor’s office at the Supreme Court of Cassation and the National Anti-Corruption Directorate against the conclusion of the meeting dated 07.08.2022, issued by the Bucharest Court in criminal case no. 15635/3/2022/a1”, this is the decision of the court.
The verdict, announced publicly today, 08/18/2022, is final.
The Bucharest court recognized the release of Bohdan Oltianu from the penitentiary.
