Who is Viking Stavanger?

The Vikings have beaten Sparta Prague (0-0 away and 2-1 at home) and Sligo Rovers (5-1 at home and 0-1 away) in the previous competition, and in the Eliteserien, Norway’s top flight, they are 5th place after 18 stages (the spring-autumn system is played), at a great distance from the places reserved for the European Cups.

The group from Stavanger has eight titles and six national cups under its belt, but the last championship won was in 1991.

At the moment, the team has two coaches (a fairly common situation in Scandinavia), Bjarte Lunde Arsheim and Morten Jensen, both without notable career results.
