Gabriela Ruse, ranked 40th in the WTA rankings, will enter the main draw of the Transylvania Open as a wild card, as will Jacqueline Christian.

Transylvania Open organizers announced Thursday that Gabriela Ruse has received a wild card into the event in February.

“Gabriela Ruse receives a wild card into the Transylvania Open 2024 main draw.

After an exciting journey to last year’s final and matches that kept our hearts in our mouths, he returns for a new challenge in Cluj! Come watch her play!” the tournament’s Facebook page says.

Jacqueline Christian also received a wild card for the main draw on Wednesday, News.ro reported.

The tournament will be held on February 3-11, 2024.

Last year, the tournament was won by the German athlete Tamara Korpatsch. She defeated Gabriela Ruse in singles with a score of 6-3, 6-4.

Jacqueline Christian reached the second round of last year’s edition, where she was eliminated by Ea Lees (Germany, score 2-6, 7-5, 6-2).
