Football players have no right to complain about a busy schedule – Bernardo Silva: “We earn a lot of money”

The Portuguese said the number of games he has to play is “crazy”, but he says footballers can’t complain because they have very high wages.

“The number of games we play today is a bit crazy, especially because the players don’t have time to rest. The risk of injury has increased significantly.

We have not been consulted, but we are trying to do our job, to represent our clubs as best we can, as well as those who pay our wages and the fans who support us.

At the end of the day, we can’t complain because we make a lot of money, but in my opinion, for people who love the game and have fun with it, if we have so many matches for so long, eventually the matches will lose their energy and intensity.” – Bernardo Silva.

Pep Guardiola: “It’s very difficult, especially for the players”

Manchester City (European champions) will play Urawa Red Diamonds (Asian champions) in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup. And Pep Guardiola, the coach of the winner of the Champions League, spoke about the new FIFA competition.

“I am not against new competitions. I’m against the lack of recovery time from year to year. This is what I complain about all the time. It doesn’t matter to me, I play every three days, six days, seven days. normally

But it’s very difficult to finish the season and then three weeks later start again and go to Asia to be financially stable or to the United States.

It is very, very difficult for us, especially for the players. Everything has to change for me. But how do you change when you go to the United States after the season to play in another tournament? This is a problem” – Pep Guardiola.

The World Club Championship will be held once every four years

FIFA released details on Sunday of the first ever Club World Cup to be held in 2025, a competition where 32 teams will start.

The tournament will be held from June 15 to July 13, 2025 in the United States of America and will be held once every four years, before the World Cup, writes Marca.

The new format replaces the old Confederations Cup, and the qualification criteria for the first edition have already been established.

In the case of European teams, the results of each club in the last four years of the Champions League will be taken into account. Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City have already qualified for the 2025 tournament, with this season’s winner playing alongside them.

Europe distributed 12 places, and the rest of the teams were determined according to the UEFA rating.

For South America, Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense, the winners of the last three Copa Libertadores, will be added to the 2024 winner, along with two teams from the Conmebol rankings.

FIFA also approved the transformation of the current Club World Cup into the Intercontinental Cup, which will be held annually from the end of 2024.
