​CSM Bucharest, the Romanian women’s handball champion, announced on Friday the extension of the contract of player Cristina Nyagu (35 years old).

In a post on their personal Facebook account, the Bucharest team stated that the new deal will run until the summer of 2025 (a one-year extension of the current deal).

Cristina Nyagu and CSM Bucharest have extended their contract for another season. Four times recognized by the international federation as the best handball player in the world, captain of the Romanian national team in 2016, 35-year-old Cristina Nyagu has been playing for the Bucharest team since 2017.

Born in the capital, Christina started playing handball at the age of 12 at school No. 1. 5 Bucharest. In her senior years, she also played for HC Activ Ploiesti, Rulmentul Brașov, Oltchim Rm.Vâlcea and ZRK Buducnost. She is one of only three players in the history of the EHF Champions League to have scored more than 1,000 goals in the club’s most important competition.
