Sorana Kirstya didn’t have it the way she would have liked at the Transylvania Open, being eliminated in the first round by youngster Eva Lis with a double 6-3.
Despite this, Sorana had an outstanding year, winning the WTA 125 in Reus and reaching the quarterfinals of the US Open.
Moreover, in Indian Wells, Romania’s first racket reached the quarterfinals, and in Miami it was one step away from the finals.
On Monday, the WTA No. 26 player announced that her season is over and she will not play in any tournaments in 2023.
“The 2023 tennis season has come to an end for me. There were great moments, good memories, tough matches and a lot of emotions, both positive and negative.
