Romania will travel to France for the Rugby World Cup on September 3, with the federation saying three players from the original squad have been injured and replaced.

Macovei, Muresan and Popoaya, replaced by Horin, Sioeli and Sikuea

Thus, Mihai Macovei, Mihai Muresan and Paul Popoia were injured during the last week of training and also in the test match against Italy and were replaced by Andre Horin, Lama Sioeli and Taliauli Sikuea.

“Oaks” will gather on Monday for the last week of training in their homeland, in Bucharest.

Marius Iftimichuk and Florin Surugiu are already in the recovery process and will return to training starting on September 5.

Mihai Makovey suffered a 2.5 cm tear in the medial calf muscle of his left leg. He will need three weeks to recover.

Mihai Muresan was injured in the match in Italy and was diagnosed with an anteroinferior dislocation of the right shoulder and a Bankart’s lesion with indications for surgery. It has a period of unavailability of 3-4 months.

Paul Popoaya is still recovering from a severe knock on his right shoulder, diagnosed with subacromial bursitis and supraspinatus tendinitis.

All athletes who did not make it to group 33 and will recover within the specified period will remain at the disposal of the technical staff throughout the WC.
