Newcastle – Liverpool 1-2, in the third stage of the Premier League

The hosts opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Anthony Gordon capitalized on a blunder in the Cormorants’ defense to cut in and finish Alisson.

Liverpool were ten men down in the 28th minute after Virgil van Dijk was shown a straight red card for a late foul on Isak.

Although the home side missed chance after chance, Darwin Nunez desperately equalized in the 81st minute with a shot into the far corner.

As both teams prepared for the final whistle, the same Nunez received a deep pass and slotted past Pope to give his team a surprise victory.
