About 250 people gathered in Bucharest’s Victory Square on Sunday night to protest after a 25-year-old woman from Botosani, Oleksandra Ivanov, died in hospital after waiting for medical help for seven hours.

Despite the heat in Bucharest, people started gathering in front of the Government to demonstrate their protest against the case as early as 5 p.m.

Oleksandra’s brother was also present at the event.

Around 19:00, the number of people in Piața Victoriei reached 250 people.

Ana Măiță, who was among the organizers of the protest, explained to HotNews.ro the reasons why they gathered at Piața Victoriei:

“We came to protest under the Government against the absolutely disgusting death of a young mother. A death that could have been 100% avoided if the medical system had done its job (…). We call on the authorities to cleanse this medical system of these people who cannot call themselves doctors,” said Ana Meitze.

At 7:45 p.m., the people gathered in Victory Square observed a moment of silence, and then, as before, chanted “Alexandra” and “Nu am aer” – a reference to one of the last messages he had given the young woman earlier. he died.

Oleksandra Ivanova (26 years old) died after overnight hospitalization in the maternity hospital in Botoshan from pulmonary edema. She had cardiorespiratory failure and the aborted pregnancy was “complicated by infection,” according to the medical examiner’s death certificate.

The woman, who was three months pregnant, was admitted to the hospital Thursday night with bleeding, but for seven hours, no medical personnel recorded care maneuvers or therapeutic interventions in her medical record, according to a preliminary report from the Botosani Public Health Office.

Oleksandra Ivanova had three more children, the eldest of whom was five years old.
