Russia announced on Sunday that it had raised an Su-30 fighter jet from the ground to intercept a US Air Force Reaper reconnaissance drone over the Black Sea.

“During the approach of a Russian fighter jet, a foreign reconnaissance drone made a turn, moving away from the border of the Russian Federation,” the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday, citing the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, writes Agerpres.

Such incidents between Russian aircraft and Western equipment have become frequent amid the war in Ukraine, in which Moscow accuses Western powers, mainly the United States, of helping Kiev not only with weapons, ammunition and training, but also with information gathered by satellites and reconnaissance planes. or drones and which allow the Ukrainian army to strike Russian strategic targets behind the front line.
