Oleksandr Zverev, two-time winner of the Tournament of Champions (2018, 2021) and Olympic champion in Tokyo, is accused of physically assaulting German model of Romanian origin Brenda Patea, RTL Germany reports.

The source reports that a criminal injunction was sought against Zverev due to the fact that he allegedly physically assaulted Pataya (26 years old), the mother of his little girl (born in March 2021).

As reported by L’Equipe, the details of the complaint are unknown, but a spokesman for the Berlin Criminal Court confirmed that the prosecutor’s office requested the issuance of a criminal warrant against Alexander Zverev for physical violence against Brenda Patea.

This request indicates that the prosecutor’s office believes that there is sufficient suspicion regarding this crime.

This is not a decision, but a proposal for a decision by the prosecutor’s office that could free Oleksandr Zverev from a public trial.

Zverev is currently ranked 19th in the ATP rankings and can get a a fine of 480,000 euros. Within two weeks, the criminal decision can be appealed, writes News.ro.

During her pregnancy, Patea said that she had a very difficult relationship with Zverev.

“Our breakup did not happen because I was pregnant, but because we saw life differently. I was already in a deep crisis. Everyone who lives with an athlete must obey this.

The child was not in the plans, but I will do everything to make it grow up in a healthy environment. I have the necessary means to support him on my own” – Brenda Patea.
