Andrii Burke is leaving CFR Cluj – he will play for Al-Ahdud in Saudi Arabia

“The CFR 1907 Cluj and Al-Akhdoud clubs have reached an agreement on the final transfer of the defender Andrei Burke to the formation of the first echelon of Saudi Arabia,” the official website of CFR Cluj states.

Arriving at Cluj in the summer of 2019, Burke quickly became one of the pillars of the team’s defence.

During the four seasons in which he wore the white-cherry shirt, the central defender made 163 appearances and won 3 championship titles and the Romanian Super Cup together with CFR.

In European competition, Burke played 45 games for CFR Cluj, scoring in a match-winning win against Celtic Cluj, a win that saw them qualify for the European Spring 2019/2020 season.

His remarkable achievements at CFR Cluj led him to the Romanian national team and made football pundits repeatedly declare him the best central defender in the domestic championship, cfr1907.ro mentions.

Bourque is currently quoted by Transfermarkt at €3.7 million, with the highest value, according to the source cited, being in June 2022: €4 million.
