Maria Sakkari lives up to her status as the favorite at WTA Linz and advanced to the semi-final stage after defeating Donna Vekic 6-3, 7-6.

The player, ranked 7th in the WTA ranking, played a good match against Donna Vekic (33 WTA), whom she eliminated in straight sets.

If in the first set Maria Sakkari needed 41 minutes to win, then in the second set the fight was frantic and stretched to a tie-break. After an hour and 26 minutes, Olena won with a score of 7-6 (10-8).

Thus, Maria Sakkari reached the semi-finals, where she will meet the winner of the duel between Klara Toson (141 WTA) and Petra Martic (34 WTA).

The Linz Open 2023 (WTA Linz) will be held from February 6 to 12 on indoor hard and is part of the WTA 250, offering a total prize pool of $259,303. Titled tournament champion (2021) – Alison Riske.
