Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have commented on Chelsea’s torrid January transfer campaign, which saw them spend €360m on eight players, including Joao Felix on loan.

Guardiola with irony about Chelsea

City and Liverpool coaches were puzzled by the Londoners’ options in this mercato period. After a month of huge expenses, the “blues” completed the transfer of Enzo Fernandez from “Benfica” for a record amount of 120 million euros on the last day, writes the Daily Mail.

When asked about Chelsea’s signings, Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola recalled the signings his club have made in recent years.

“This is none of my business. It’s strange because it’s not a state club. We have won 11 trophies in the last five years and are among the top six spending clubs.” Guardiola said.

City spent just €9m in the mercato window to sign Argentine midfielder Maximo Perrone.

Klopp does not understand such high costs

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp made a funny statement.

“I’m not saying anything without my lawyer. I don’t understand that part of the business, but it’s a lot of money. They are all good players, so I congratulate them. I don’t understand how that’s possible, but it’s not my job to explain.” Klopp said.

Liverpool have invested €50 million in the signing of Cody Gakpo.

In addition to Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea have also signed Joao Felix, Benoit Badiachile, Andriy Santos, David Datro Fofana, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Malo Gusto this winter.
