Marcus Rashford came on as a substitute in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the Englishman came off the bench to score the winning goal in the 76th minute.
Marcus Rashford understood Erik ten Heg’s decision
The England international was not used from the first minute in the match at Molineux Stadium, a decision for Erik ten Haag, for disciplinary reasons.
Rashford came on in the second half for Garnacho (who came on for him) and scored in the 76th minute from a pass from Bruno Fernandes.
Immediately after the match, the Englishman was asked what he thought of Erik ten Heg’s decision and the reason for his absence from the starting line-up.
“Obviously, these are the rules. This is an error that can happen. I’m disappointed I wasn’t a starter, but I understand the decision. I am happy that we managed to win the game and draw the line behind him.
I was late for the meeting, overslept.” Marcus Rashford said.
Rashford: “I overslept and missed the meeting before the game. I’m a little late. These are the rules of the team, and I understand this decision,” he says @btsportfootball uD83DuDD34 #MUFC
Ten Heg: “It’s good, after the decision. He was bright, he was lively, he scored. The right reaction.” pic.twitter.com/DxfRIt7hnL
