Olympiacos was defeated 81-76 by Monaco in the fifth game of the Euroleague. This was Piraeus’ first defeat in competition. Monaco won 4 victories.

Piraeus led 8-6 in the first period with six straight points from Walkup. The guests counterattacked and led (8-9) with James, but the Barzoki team had an answer. With Motejunas and Brown, Monaco reached 11-15, and the hosts took the reins again with Vezenkov and Fall. Lloyd made it 16-17 in the first period.

Olympiacos regained the lead again early in the second quarter. The Monegasques were leading 20-24 with Okombo, but the hosts found solutions and went to 32-29 with Sluka. Brown and Okombo equalized at 32–33, with George Bartzokas’s team leading at halftime 37–33 for five straight McKissick points.

The hosts made it 41-33 with Kanaan and Walkup early in the third quarter. Obradovic’s team battled for a 41-43 lead with Lloyd and James. The lead changed hands several times, and the guests, along with Hall, built a 49–53 mini-marathon. Three-pointer Okobo brought Monaco to +5 (51-56) at the end of the third period.

With another three-point shot by Okobo, Monaco went 51–59, with Olympiacos responding with Peters. Diallo again brought the difference to eight points in favor of Obradovic’s team with another three-pointer. The away team led by 12 points (54-66) with four consecutive points from James.

Olympiacos cut the score to 60-68 with Boloboy, but Moerman’s 3-pointer put Monaco up +11 (60-71) with six minutes left in the game. A 3-pointer from Larentsakis brought the lead back to single digits, while a 3-pointer from McKissick made it 66-72. Okobo’s four points returned Monaco back to 66–76. The hosts reacted with Sluka, but with another Okombo three-pointer, the Monegasques led 68-80 with about a minute left. Olympiacos scored the difference (74-80), but there was no other reaction to the fact that Obradovic’s team left the SEF with a victory.
