The hosts took the lead for the first time (5-4) with Derrick Williams, and then with a three-point difference (9-6) with Gudaitis. At that time, the Monegasques scored ten points in a row and pulled ahead with a score of 9-16 thanks to a three-pointer from Okombo.
An accurate shot by Andrews interrupted the Monaco streak. The guests, however, capitalized on Panathinaikos’ numerous mistakes and reached 10-27 with Diallo before Ponitka made it 11-27 in the first period.
Radonic’s team showed signs of resistance and cut the score to 18-29 at Gudaitis in the first two minutes of the second period. Diallo made the score 40-46 with a clean shot, but Radonic’s team again drew (50-50) with Williams. Obradović’s team again took a six-point lead (50–56), but Panathinaikos took a 59–58 lead before the visitors again took a 59–60 lead thanks to an Okobo layup at the end of the third period.
The Shamrocks led 61-60 with Ponitka, but Monaco made it 61-66 with Okobo. Panathinaikos drew (68-68) with Gudaitis, but the Monegasques outscored 68-71 with a basket and a James foul.
The American defense took the Monegasques to 70-76 with about two minutes left. The Shamrocks lost to Grigonis 74-76 with 49 seconds left in the game. Hall’s shot brought the Monegasques to +4 (74-78) and almost gave away the victory to the guests.
