The Selesao striker made the score 2-1, and when he was celebrating the victory, someone from the stands threw him a banana. Fred threw the fruit out of the field. “As long as we keep our word and no one is punished, these things will happen every day and everywhere. We don’t have time,” Richarlison tweeted.

The Brazilian Football Federation issued a statement condemning the actions and calling for stronger action against racism. “Unfortunately, a banana was thrown on the field towards Richarlison, who scored the second goal of the Brazilian national team,” the federation said on Twitter.
After Brazil’s second goal, a banana was thrown at Richarlison. CBF strengthens its stance against discrimination and vehemently rejects yet another episode of racism in football.

Ednaldo Rodriguez, president of the federation, added of the incident: “This time I saw it with my own eyes. This shocks us. We must always remember that we are all equal, regardless of color, race or religion.”
“The fight against racism is not a cause, but a fundamental change that will wipe it off the face of the earth. I insist that the punishments be more severe, ”concluded the Brazilian actor.
