France beat Italy 93-85 to reach the EuroBasket semi-finals. Cole’s team won in overtime. The Italians missed a big chance after Fontecchio missed two shots in the regular time final.

France will play either Poland or Slovenia, with the qualification for the final in the background.

Cole’s team got into the game better and took an 11-3 lead with a basket and Fournier’s foul. The Italians fought back and cut to three points (15-12) with Fontecchio’s five in a row. Fontecchio drove up to the line and missed both shots, giving Ertel the chance to equalize (77-77) with five seconds left. Fo missed the last attack and the match went into overtime.

Overtime began with a well-timed 3-pointer from Ertel and Spissou gave Italy a 79–80 lead. The French managed to take an 87-83 lead with successive strikes, and Spiess cut again. At the end of the match, the French were stronger and more qualified.
