“What will characterize the situation in the next ten days are two extreme ups and downs in the weather. In the next 4-5 days we will have very high temperatures, and then we will go straight into the autumn landscapes.

The gradual increase in temperature has already begun today and will last until Sunday (09/18/2022). Friday and Saturday will be the hottest days with temperatures above 36 and 37 degrees. Celsius in several areas, mainly in the east and north of the mainland country- Thessaly, Eastern Sterea (Boeotia, Phthiotis), Central Macedonia and Thrace. In Thessaly, indeed, the thermometer can show 39 degrees Celsius, and in some places it may reach 40. This will happen because the westerly winds will prevail in this region, which will act as “lee”.

However, during the night hours, the above high temperatures will decrease due to the season and only in urban centers will they reach 25 degrees. Celsius. In the province, the thermometer at night will show from 19 to 20 degrees.

What will happen in Attica and when will the change of scenery begin?

“In Attica, due to the southerly winds, we will not see such high temperatures. Of course, on Friday and Saturday the temperature will rise here.. in the center of Athens will reach 31-32 degrees Celsius but in his heart prefectures and further north, it will reach 34.

On Sunday, we expect a gradual decrease in temperature from the north-west of the country. It looks like we will also have rains in the northwest, in the northern part of the Ionian Sea and in particular in Epirus.

From next week and especially from the second half of it, in some areas the temperature will not exceed 25 degrees. In Thessaly 38 and 39 will be on Saturday, next week will not be above from 24 degrees. That’s a big difference in such a short time..

I note that the normal maximum temperatures in the second decade of September are close to 28-30 degrees. celsius, therefore, in areas where the thermometer will read 38 degrees, we will have a deviation of as much as 8 degrees.
